THE SHORT VERSION

Keep the booking passport, Chinese accommodation address and a charged device within reach from the border onward.
Test connectivity and a small payment before depending on either for a long transfer or reservation.
Confirm the hotel or private-stay registration path before leaving your first accommodation area.

Make the first connection

Activate the selected data path, open the ride and payment accounts and keep the destination address in Chinese and English. If the app does not work, ask a staffed airport, station or hotel desk for the next practical step rather than improvising from a translated screenshot.

Check in with the right document

Hotels register foreign guests. A private home or other non-hotel stay has a separate temporary accommodation registration workflow, and online options are limited by region. Ask the host or local authority how the current route applies before settling in.

Run a small systems test

Make one ordinary payment, confirm that the address opens and charge the device before heading out. Keep the second card, modest cash and the accommodation contact separate from the primary wallet or phone.

Keep day one deliberately small

A short neighborhood loop leaves room for a failed verification, a wrong station name or a delayed check-in. Save the next day's booking and the relevant official support page before going to sleep.
